Food Pantry

Many working families do not earn enough to meet their basic need for food! The most recent economic recession left many middle class families facing issues such as Food insecurity. Calvary CDC Food Pantry endeavors to fill the void of hunger faced by so many today!

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) utilizes the term Food Insecurity to access hunger in communities. Food Insecurity is defined as a household-level economic and social condition of limited or uncertain access to adequate food. Hunger is an individual-level physiological condition that may result from food insecurity.

Hunger is a real issue in the state. Missouri ranks 23rd in the nation with 826,954 adults and 261,353 children (<18) living in Poverty. There are 345,912 households that are Food Insecure and 151,032 households that are Very Low Food Secure (state FRAC data).
